Dirndl Size Chart
We craft authentic Bavarian dirndls across a complete size range, so every customer can find a fit true to their own measurements. Each dirndl is hand-cut and sewn following traditional Trachten methods, piece by piece.
The dirndl bodice (Mieder) is built to sit snugly against your torso, almost like a second skin. A traditional Trachten silhouette shapes the body — it isn't meant to hang loose.
Always order using your actual body measurements in centimetres rather than your everyday clothing size. Caught between two sizes? Choose the smaller one: the lace-up back panel allows several extra centimetres of adjustment, and the fabric will soften and mould to your shape over time. A dirndl that's ordered too large will never sit right, regardless of how beautiful the fabric is.
Where to measure
Getting your custom fit right takes three simple measurements. Use a soft fabric tape, wear your normal undergarments, and stand naturally relaxed while measuring — don't hold your breath or pull in.
Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your bust, keeping it level and parallel to the floor. It should sit snug against the body without pressing in.
Measure around the narrowest point of your waistline, usually just above the navel. Stay relaxed and breathe out normally before reading the tape.
Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your hips, keeping it level all the way around your body.

- Measure in centimetres — cm gives a more precise fit than inches and lines up directly with our size chart.
- Use a soft measuring tape, never a rigid ruler. A flexible tape follows the curve of your body accurately, a ruler cannot.
- Stand naturally and breathe normally. Don't suck in your stomach or puff out your chest — measure your real, relaxed body.
- Ask someone to help if you can. Measuring your own bust and hips can be awkward; a second pair of hands improves accuracy.
- Wear your usual undergarments while measuring, the same bra and shapewear you'd wear with the finished dirndl.
